Specialites of Creative Multimedia

As we try to explore more into creative multimedia, it is better when we get a clearer vision of the definition of the whole concept. Creative in general means the ability to create “a creative imagination” .This can be defined as a mental process of developing a new way of looking at something. Creativity leads to inventing new things which era; something that has never exist before, something that has already exist but we are not aware of and also a new process of doing something. When talking about creative, it gives us the impact of creating changes to culture and also as a satisfaction for individual or the whole society. Creative can best be described as the discovery of new ideas, concept and even association. Multimedia is media and content that uses a combination of different content forms. The term can be used as a noun (a medium with multiple content forms) or as an adjective describing a medium as having multiple content forms. The term is used in contrast to media which only use traditional forms of printed or hand-produced material. (Source: Wikipedia) Multimedia involves a lot of combination which are mainly from text, audio, still images, animation, video, and interactivity content forms. Multimedia has a wider scope since it is used in computerized and electronic devices which have a lot of software and applications which we can use to form an artwork. Examples of production by multimedia includes, video, graphics, illustration, 3D modelling, 2d animation, 3d animation game system, interactive media, still images and forms, or a combination of each and every one of it. It is also considered as a “rich media” since multimedia has a lot discovery in its term. Creative multimedia is the way in which create technologies the concept of multimedia communications or combining creative and imaginative ideas with a strong understanding of communication in business, web design, video and animation, art and design, entertainment and education. The creative multimedia and information businesses have always been a terrific contributor to the economy. Together, the creative and media business sectors invest, produce and spread a huge content that educates, entertain and inform the public. People can communicate with artworks or production of creative multimedia through the access of activated broadband, internet and also smart phones. This also includes big advertising billboards that have a creative multimedia artwork printed or presented on it. There are many branch in creative multimedia such as photography, computer graphics, digital audio and video,2d animation, computer illustration,3d animation, interactive web design, advertising design, Internet Programming ,interface design,3d modelling, virtual reality, Imaging, digital media and etc. Photography is the process, activity and art of creating still or moving pictures by recording radiation on a radiation-sensitive medium, such as a photographic film, or an electronic sensor(Wikipedia). It is a broad base of theory and practice from which to develop people creative approach to the craft of photography. Computer graphics are graphics created using computers and, more generally, the representation and manipulation of image data by a computer. This kind of graphics involves people to skill software techniques in Illustrator, Photoshop, and other raster and vector programs. Skilling all of this software will be able us to create typography, visual arts, page layout techniques and etc. 2D animation is the computer-based generation of digital images mostly from two-dimensional models (such as 2D geometric models, text, and digital images) and by techniques specific to them. It is mainly used in applications that were originally developed upon traditional printing and drawing technologies, such as typography, technical drawing, advertising, etc.( Wikipedia). Moreover, this media provides a complete principles and techniques of drawn, model, and computer animation. People will learn every aspect of creating an animated film, from treatments, scripts and storyboarding. A bit different from 2d, 3D animation are graphics that use a three-dimensional representation of geometric data that is stored in the computer for the purposes of performing calculations and rendering 2D images. Advertising design is a creation and organization of visual artwork used in advertisements for products and services. The designs used in advertising are created by graphic designers. Advertising agencies or the advertising departments of company employ graphic designers to create and execute brochures, emailing, online ads, video ads and print ads. Design elements used in advertisements include fancy lettering, borders, cartoons, illustrations, photographs and video. The main difference between advertising design and regular mainstream artwork is that advertising art must be designed to reach and communicate with the target audience to purchase products and services. This kind of media need ability of generating creative ideas, visualize the concept, solve problems, and think strategically to enhance the power of marketing communication. Web design is the skill of creating presentations of content that is delivered to an end-user through the World Wide Web, by way of a Web browser or other Web-enabled software like Internet television clients, micro blogging clients and RSS readers.( Wikipedia). Web design is a kind of graphic design speciality for development and styling of objects of the Internet's information environment to provide them with high-end consumer features. The offered definition separates Web design from web programming, emphasizing the features of a web site, as well as put web design as a kind of graphic design. Furthermore, interactive web design allow visitor to communicate with it. From my point of view, creative multimedia is an excellent form of art in our modern era as we can create so many useful things with the high-tech of electronic devices nowadays. Moreover, it specializes in many design multimedia contents which enables us to generate more creative artworks for the society. This is a very helpful tool because we can be professionals and have highly developed skills and knowledge in producing and developing creative multimedia content for online and offline purposes. In conclusion, the integration of creative multimedia can really help us to develop stronger aspects of information and communication for the usage of our advertising industry and we can even contribute for the technology of future.

Random word/ image association

Random Association is an idea generation method which allows students to systematically generate new ideas through a fixed formula. The whole premise of Random Association is to use a Random Word to provoke a reaction from the brain.

What i understand about this lecture is by seeing an image or word make our brain thinking about it and how to solve a problem about it.


As an example,we been given an exercise in class about How to make a person stop smoking in 6 months and by using this image....
Well,what do you think about it?Of course our mind are running to think about it now.
Actually we can use the color to indicate the danger.Picture below show an example about how the color can works.

Paint different traffic light color like green,yellow and red to show the level of danger.It might be work on certain people who dont want to die early.hoho..

Convergent and Divergent thinking

Convergent thinking - means the ability to give the correct answer to standard questions that do not require significant creativity, for instance in most tasks in school -wikipedia



Divergent thinking - is a thought process or method used to generate creative ideas by exploring many possible solutions.-wikipedia


What i understand about this is both styles of thought are employed in problem solving.

Convergent thinking doesn't need to be creative to solve a problem.In which the person is good at bringing material from a other of sources to solve a problem, in such a way as to produce the correct answer.This kind of thinking is particularly used in science, maths and technology.
Divergent thinking on the other term is a skill is in creative elaboration of ideas and is more suited to artistic way and study in the humanities.

Our task given is to find a image of public figure.
I choose Tunku Abdul Rahman,Malaysia first prime minister as an innovative person.
He often called Bapa Kemerdekaan (Father of Independence) or Bapa Malaysia (Father of Malaysia). Tunku Abdul Rahman led a delegation to London to seek independence for Malaya, but the trip proved to be unfruitful.

Tunku Abdul Rahman proclaimning Malayan independence.Later in 1955 Abdul Rahman made another trip to London to negotiate Malayan independence, and 31 August 1957, was decided as the date for independence. When the British flag was lowered in Kuala Lumpur on independence day, Abdul Rahman led the crowd in announcing "Merdeka!" mean freedom.Every year on 31 August we can see on television Tunku Abdul Rahman raising his hand, and the recordings about Malaysia Independence day with voice leading the cheers, have become familiar icons of Malaysian independence.See him on television every year really make me proud been a Malaysian.( ^.^ )

Well,our task this week is writing a poem.I choose to write about Love and Chilli,Pain and Ice-cream and Life and Candle.


Love and Chilli
Love is like chilli,
The color of chilli make us exited like love,
The taste of it hurts when it too spicy,
Mixing with other ingredient make it more delicious
although it still spicy....like love


Pain and Ice-cream

Pain is like eating ice-cream,
It hurts when we don't have money to pay for it,
It hurts our teeth when its too cold.
Pain will go away after a little while,
Just like a melting ice cream..

Life and Candle
Life is like a candle,
Sometimes life is shaking like wind passed the candle,
Life is beautiful like a fire on the candle.
Anything can happen in our life,just like candle
we don't know if the fire will blow up it self,
Life is shot,just like candle
we know the fire will off anytime..


Well as you can see,i am a terrible poet.haha..

Juxtaposition

In this week,we were learning about juxtaposition and how people use it to send a message.
Juxtaposition means placing things side-by-side or in similar narrative moments for the purpose of comparison, contrast, rhetorical effect, suspense, or character development.


As an example,this artwork by Gene Guynn show it juxtaposition
by showing to image of woman with different characteristic.














This is another justaposition by using texts.




Juxtaposition is an interesting way to show messages to people and im enjoy to learn about it.

This week we need to do a mind mapping about mortar and pestle.
We need to choose a keyword from the mind map and think about in the future like year 20020,what people will think when they found mortar and pestle.What they thought we were doing with mortar and pestle.



Keywords that i choose is exercise,book,and sitting.



In 20020,mortar and pestle are use as exercise equipment where mortar are tied at feet and pestle are tied at hands.



In 20020,mortar are use as table while pestle are use as bookmark.



In 20020,mortar and pestle are use as chair with place the pestle under the mortar.

By creating mind map can make our study or work easily understadable.There are a few types of mind map such as Logical mind map,associated mind map. The Logical Mind Map is directly connected to stereotypes. The Logical mind map comprises of solely stereotype words. Which means that every word or image that is put within the mind map is directly related to the central subject through its links.

By creating creative mind map can make the viewer more interest to looking at it.

This visual mind map look interestinf and make the viewer want to explore more about the content.The colourful writing and visual actually make our brain to remember it strong rather than plain mind map.

Novelty,Creativity and Innovation.What the difference???

Hello there,
this week i have been learning about Novelty,Creativity and Innovation.

• What is Novelty?

First i heard it and all my mind think about novel.But of course it mean more than a novel.Novelty is about new or unusual things that we can see around us.The meaning is,it is something which that already being created before but people use it and created it to something different.It like using the old material and recreated it.

This is an example of food.
People use food and created it to something new and unusual.

• What is creativity?

Creativity is something that original value.It about new ideas and producing it.The things can be say creative if it look unique.Creativity can be misunderstood with innovation.

• What is innovation?

Innovation is a change in the thought process for doing something, or the useful application of new inventions or discoveries.-wikipedia
Meaning is innovation is about something creative and we actually can turn it into a product and sell it.It about converted an imagination,information and initiative into useful product.

What is creativity?

I define creativity as the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality.

From my understanding,creativity is the way people show their unique ideas and concept.It more to a new way of solving problem.Some people agree that only special person is creative.From my learning in class,there are myth of creativity which told us that only special talented people are creative.I totally disagree with that statement because to be or create some creativity,it depend on the person effort.Anyone can be creative by turning nothing to be something.For example,designing a word to something we love to see can be a creative way to show people.

This image is a creative way by the designer to show us that they are creative and actually show their effort to create it.

Hello there,
This blog was created for my first assigment in Creative Studies subject.When i heard the name of this subject Creative Studies,it sound fun for me.First day in class kind make me exited to study for this subject.In class,i was be given a deeper meaning of creative thinking and im very sure this class will provide more creative skill and improve my ability to create some creative mind and ideas.
